Our student of the month for January 2012 is Tyler Saizan. Tyler is a 12 year old who attends 7th grade at Prairieville Middle School where he enjoys learning science.
Tyler is currently a Yellow Belt Sr. and has been training at Kajun Martial Arts for 7 months and he has learned from his training that hard work pays off. His favorite technique is the Side Fist Strike. Tyler's goals with his martial arts training is to one day become an instructor at KMA.
When Tyler is not training he enjoys playing computer games and reading. His favorite book is "The Hunter Games and he enjoys eating spaghetti. His favorite color is red. If he could do or be anything for a day, he would want to be a Chemist because he has always been interested in chemistry.
Our second student of the month for January 2012 is Mr. Danial Spedale. Mr. Danial is 33 years old and has been training at Kajun Martial Arts for 10 months.
Mr. Danial is currently a Gold Belt Sr. and his favorite things to practice at KMA are holds, joint locks and eskrima sticks. Since starting his training, he has learned a lot about myself and what it means to be more active. KMA has helped him to understand how the principals and the pledge of Choi Kwang Do, play a major part in his life, whether it be as a husband, father, or employee. He has taken what he has learned and has tried to live his life healthier. He still struggles with living healthy, but knows his continued training and the support he has at KMA will keep him on the path to a healthy and happy life.
Mr. Danial plans to continue training at KMA to reach at least the 2nd Dan Black Belt. He would like to become an assistant instructor and teach others what has quickly become a passion in his life. He feels becoming an instructor would also help with his personal development. Through becoming an instructor he believes he would be able to obtain the confidence he needs to speak before large, diverse groups of people and give him an opportunity to improve his ability to manage ever changing situations.
Mr. Danial really loves spending time at the Dojang training, talking martial arts and catching up with everyone. When he is not at the Dojang, he also loves spending time with his wife, 2 children, and his dog, Penny. They take walks through the neighborhood and enjoy spending time with their wonderful neighbors. He also enjoys taking family vacations to places such as Colorado and Tennessee to family or Disney World and Gulf Shores to relax.
